About Us
Hello. My name is Mya Leo, and I am the 2024-2025 editor-in-chief for Sounds News. I will be graduating from SPSCC with two associate’s degrees in biology and general sciences and plan to transfer to a 4-year university in the fall, with the hopes of dual majoring in Mathematics and Molecular Biology. Outside of school, I enjoy art, photography, reading, and film. This year, I would really like to highlight the local community and student voices in the Sounds News. Thank you for reading!
Hello! My name is Candice Powers, and I am a reporter for the Sounds News. I am currently a running start senior, and I am completing my associates degree this year. I have a strong passion for journalism, my favorite aspect of it being to research and get information out to others. I am also a part of the Instructional Student Council that works closely with faculty to vouch for the student body! I hope to attend at a four-year university and major in Political Science, so expect the news sections of the Sounds to be full of my writing! Working with The Sounds this year, I hope to grow in my reporting skills, and help inform the SPSCC student body. Go Clippers!
My name is Hogan McCale, and I am a reporter for the Sounds News. My pathway is AA Arts & Communications, and I’ll be graduating in 2025. I love writing, and I wanted to get more involved in Student Life here at SPSCC. After graduation I will transfer to a four-year university, majoring in Political Science, Journalism, or Marketing.
