About Us
Ariana Wilson. Editor-in-chief. AA Arts & Communication, graduating 2024. The opportunity I have to connect with others and hear their stories is what I love most about Journalism and my job here with the Sounds News. After graduation I plan to transfer to a four year and continue to pursue journalism in some capacity.
Electra Gupton is the supervisor for the Sounds News team.
Kaelin Spence (she/her/hers). Expected graduation: 2025. Running Start, Associates in Arts Transfer degree. I plan to transfer to a four-year University. My Career Goals at the moment are to explore and gain experience in a variety of fields. I am a Reporter for the Sounds News Team, I interview, research, and write articles for SPSCC’s Newspaper! I chose writing because it has always helped me remember things and organize my thoughts. I am a creative writer at heart, but I also love to research and learn about new topics! so, when I found out about the Sounds Newspaper, I thought it was a great opportunity to improve my writing.
My name is Hogan McCale, and I am the web layout editor for the Sounds News. My pathway is AA Arts & Communications, and I’ll be graduating in 2025. I love writing, and I wanted to get more involved in Student Life here at SPSCC. After graduation I will transfer to a four-year university, majoring in Political Science, Journalism, or Marketing.
Mya Leo, reporter, science engineering & math pathway. I got interested in journalism because it is, in my eyes, the perfect combination of documentary work and literature, which are two of my passions. I hope to pursue a career in scientific research and complete as much schooling as I can in as many fields as possible.
My name is Emrys Alfaro Haugen, I’m a running start student in my second year at SPSCC. I’ll be graduating with my Associate’s in Arts in Summer, and going to the University of Washington this fall to major in English. I’m a queer Mexican American, and I hope I’ll be able to provide some insight about the community and the campus resources.
